NRW Forest Operations in Bryn Forest

Please find attached information on upcoming forestry operations in Bryn forest. There are two contracts due to start in Jan 2018 and both should run for 3-4 months. I have attached maps and briefing notes for both. The timber will be taken out through the Maesteg Golf Course access.

Natural Resources Wales are about to commence a 3-4 month programme to thin and fell areas of conifers within Bryn forest. This is part of on-going forest operations to sustainably manage the public forest estate. The work is being carried out within the identified areas on the accompanying maps. The operations are due to commence in JANUARY 2018 with forest operations completed by MARCH/APRIL 2018 and timber haulage from site being completed soon after that.During this time, there may be several restrictions to access around the work sites. This is for the safety of the public and the contractors.

Congratulations to Bryn Welfare Bowling Club for winning both the First Division of the Port Talbot League and the Second Division of the Neath League.  To be champions in both leagues in the same year represents one of the most successful seasons in the club’s history.Well done to all Players and a big thank you for the time they spent working on the Green and the pavilion throughout the year, their donations and the efforts they’ve made to raise funds. Thanks also to Social members, friends and families for their support. New members of all ages and abilities are welcome. Visit our Website for further information  or follow us on Facebook.

BRAG have applied for a donation from Tesco under their "Bags of Help" scheme. If we are successful this could help us in maintaining and developing things like the children's play area in Bryn and if we get sufficient votes, even put on a party in the park next summer. Please use social media, word of mouth any any other ways to encourage anyone shopping in Maesteg Tesco to ask for the tokens and use them to vote for our project.I believe the voting will take place in November but watch out for it when you are next in Maesteg Tesco and do not forget to ask for the voting tokens, there is no minimum spend required.
